Advice Letter to California Public Utilities Commission Regarding Auberry Service Center Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan - PG&E Retained

On October 5, 2018 PG&E submitted an Advice Letter to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) pursuant to Public Utilities Code Section 851 requesting the CPUC’s approval of PG&E's encumbrance with a perpetual conservation easement to 29 acres at the Auberry Service planning unit in Fresno County. The Conservation Easement on these acres will be held by Sierra Foothill Conservancy.

Final Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan – Auberry Service Center

At its March 13, 2018 meeting, the Stewardship Council Board of Directors approved a final Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan for lands to be retained by PG&E at the Auberry Service Center planning unit in Fresno County.

The Final LCCP describes how the proposed transaction and related agreements conform to and fulfill all requirements of the 2003 settlement Agreement and Stipulation.

The Draft LCCP was made available for a public review and comment period from December 15, 2017 to January 16, 2018.

Recommendations

At its September 16, 2010 meeting, the Stewardship Council Board of Directors recommended that PG&E retain all of the lands (approximately 41 acres) in the Auberry planning unit, located in Fresno County.

At its October 20, 2010 meeting, the board recommended Sierra Foothill Conservancy as the prospective conservation easement holder on the property.

At its January 25, 2017 meeting, the board approved a recommendation for a finding of no significant public interest value (NSPIV) for approximately 12.7 acres of the Auberry planning unit that are encumbered by the Auberry Service Center after evaluating the acres and coming to the conclusion that the acres do not contain, nor do they have the potential for significant habitat, forestry, agricultural, recreational, or open space value. These 12.7 acres will not be included in the Auberry planning unit LCCP.
