Permanent Protection of PG&E's Retained Property with a Conservation Easement

On May 25, 2017, a conservation easement was recorded to protect the Beneficial Public Values of the lands owned by PG&E at the Fordyce (Kidd & Cascade) planning unit. The conservation easement is held by the Placer Land Trust.

Proposed Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan – Lands to be retained by PG&E at Fordyce (White Rock) Lake

The Watershed Planning Committee of the Stewardship Council forwarded to the board of directors for its consideration and possible adoption the proposed Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan (LCCP) for a portion of the Fordyce Lake planning unit for public review and comment.

The draft LCCP was made available for a public review and comment period from April 20, 2017 to May 22, 2017.

Proposed Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan –Lands to be donated to USFS at Fordyce (White Rock) Lake

On August 19, 2016, a conservation easement was recorded to protect the Beneficial Public Values on lands owned by PG&E at the Fordyce Lake (Meadow & Sterling Lakes) planning unit in Nevada County. The Conservation Easement is held by the Bear Yuba Land Trust.

Advice Letter to California Public Utilities Commission Regarding Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan (Retained by PG&E at Nevada County)

On August 10, 2015 PG&E submitted an Advice Letter to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) pursuant to Public Utilities Code Section 851 requesting the CPUC's approval of a conservation easement to be established on approximately 1,937 acresof land PG&E is retaining at the Fordyce Lake planning unit in Nevada County. The conservation easement will be held by Bear Yuba Land Trust.

Final Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan - Kidd/Cascade Lakes

At its January 21, 2016 meeting, the boardadopted the Fordyce Lake Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan (LCCP) for lands to be retained by PG&E at the Fordyce Lake planning unit (Kidd/Cascade Lakes) located in Placer County, California.

The Fordyce Lake (Kidd/Cascade Lakes) LCCP describes how the proposed transactions and related agreements conform to and fulfill all requirements of the 2003 Settlement Agreement and Stipulation.

The draft LCCP was made available for public review and comment for a 30-day period from October 1, 2015 to October 31, 2015.

Final Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan - Lands to be Retained by PG&E

At its November 19, 2014 meeting, the board adopted the Fordyce Lake Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan (LCCP) for the Fordyce Lake planning unit located in Nevada County, California.

The Fordyce Lake LCCP describes how the proposed transactions and related agreements conform to and fulfill all requirements of the 2003 Settlement Agreement and Stipulation.

The draft LCCP was made available for public review and comment for a 30-day period from September 15, 2014 to October 15, 2014.

Recommendations

At its January 23, 2014 meeting, the Stewardship Council Board of Directors recommended the United States Forest Service as the prospective fee title donee for approximately 75 acres of land in the Fordyce Lake planning unit, located in Nevada County.

At its September 15, 2011 meeting, the Stewardship Council Board of Directors recommended the Bear Yuba Land Trust (formerly Nevada County Land Trust) as the prospective conservation easement holder on the Nevada County lands in the Fordyce Lake planning unit. The board also recommended the Placer Land Trust as the prospective conservation easement holder on the Placer County lands in the Fordyce Lake planning unit.

Land Stewardship Proposals


On May 13, 2011, the Stewardship Council received one land stewardship proposal from the US Forest Service–Tahoe National Forest, which was interested in being considered for a donation of fee title to certain lands located within the Fordyce Lake planning unit. The US Forest Service–Tahoe National Forest prepared and submitted the proposal and is responsible for the information contained therein. The proposal is presented as is, and the Stewardship Council does not make any assertion regarding the accuracy or completeness of the information presented, nor does the proposal necessarily reflect the views of the Stewardship Council. The Stewardship Council fully reviewed and considered the proposal before recommending organizations as conservation easement holders on lands within the Fordyce Lake planning unit.

Please note that the following Land Stewardship Proposal submitted by the US Forest Service concerns multiple planning units within the Yuba–Bear River Watershed Area including the Fordyce Lake planning unit.
