Proposed Land Conservation
and Conveyance Plan – Lake Almanor (Maidu Forest)

The Watershed Planing Committee of the Stewardship Council forwarded to the board of directors for its consideration and possible adoption the proposed Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan for lands to be donated to the Maidu Summit Consortium at the Lake Almanor (Maidu Forest) planning unit in Plumas County.

The Draft LCCP was made available for a public review and comment period from December 15, 2017 to January 16, 2018.

Proposed Land Conservation
and Conveyance Plan – Lake Almanor (Maidu Cemetery)

The Watershed Planing Committee of the Stewardship Council forwarded to the board of directors for its consideration and possible adoption the proposed Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan for lands to be donated to the Maidu Summit Consortium at the Lake Almanor (Maidu Cemetery) planning unit in Plumas County.

Recommendations

At its January 21, 2016 meeting, the Stewardship Council Board of Directors recommended the Maidu Summit Consortium as as the prospective fee title donee for an additional 200 acres of the lands in the Lake Almanor planning unit located in Plumas County subject to the following requirements:

  • The Summit agrees to enter into a legally binding agreement to ensure that the conservation easement and other agreements executed pursuant to the Land Conservation Commitment remain enforceable in perpetuity; and
  • Prior to the Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan for the Lake Almanor planning unit being adopted by the Stewardship Council Board, the Summit successfully completes certain intitial milestones established pursuant to the capacity-building grants awarded by the Stewardship Council.

At its November 19, 2014 meeting, the Stewardship Council Board of Directors recommended the Maidu Summit Consortium as as the prospective fee title donee for 441 acres of the lands in the Lake Almanor planning unit located in Plumas County subject to the following requirements:

  • The Summit agrees to enter into a legally binding agreement to ensure that the conservation easement and other agreements executed pursuant to the Land Conservation Commitment remain enforceable in perpetuity; and
  • Prior to the Land Conservation and Conveyance Plan for the Lake Almanor planning unit being adopted by the Stewardship Council Board, the Summit successfully completes certain intitial milestones established pursuant to the capacity-building grants awarded by the Stewardship Council.

At its February 16, 2011 meeting, the Stewardship Council Board of Directors recommended the County of Plumas as the prospective fee title donee for 57 acres of the lands in the Lake Almanor planning unit located in Plumas County.

The Stewardship Council will make available the fee title donee recommendations for the remainder of the lands in the Lake Almanor planning unit at a later date.

At its February 16, 2011 meeting, the board recommended Feather River Land Trust as the prospective conservation easement holder on the property.

Land Stewardship Proposals


On November 12, 2010, the Stewardship Council received land stewardship proposals from organizations interested in being considered for a donation of fee title to certain lands located within the Lake Almanor planning unit. The Maidu Summit Consortium and County of Plumas prepared and submitted proposals. The Maidu Summit Consortium’s referenced 2007 Land Management Plan Proposal is also posted below. The respective organizations prepared the information and statements in these proposals and are responsible for the information contained therein. Proposals are presented as is, and the Stewardship Council does not make any assertion regarding the accuracy or completeness of information presented, nor do the proposals necessarily reflect the views of the Stewardship Council. The Stewardship Council fully reviewed and considered the proposals before recommending any organizations for donation of fee title to lands within the Lake Almanor planning unit.
